5 Nail Polishes Worth Buying

Happy New Year to all of you! As you guys can see, the blog’s design is completely different than it was before, I’ve been working on it a lot for over a month or so, trying to make it more attractive for my readers. I’ve also migrated it from Blogger to WordPress (which I find so much easier) and though it’s been a lot of fun getting to learn and set up all of this, it has definitely taken me longer than I thought.

In this time I’ve had the opportunity of trying out (and rediscovering) different products. So when it comes to nail colors, I gathered up 5 of my lately favorite.

Essie Devil’s Advocate This is probably my number one favorite. It’s a deep blackish plum that complements almost any look. At first it may seem black, but under different lightings you can really appreciate the plum tone.

OPI Dating a Royal Royal blue will always be one of my favorite shades of this color. Blue nails (as well as green) can turn out to be quite hard to style if not used in the right shade, but this one seems very elegant and fashion forward, and at the same time adds some interest and fun to your outfit.

Forever 21 Gold Studs Nail Art Kit |My love for this nail polish was definitely influenced by the holiday season, wheather it was by itself or on top of an actual nail color. I find it quite useful in moments when you feel like spicying up some old colors . This one is part of a Forever 21 nail art kit that includes golden studs, a black and clear nail polish one as well. L-R 1. Essie “The Devil’s Advocate” 2.  OPI “Dating a Royal” 3. Forever 21 “Gold Studs Nail Art Kit” 4. Essie “Sole Mate” 5. OPI “Dulce de Leche”

OPI Dulce de Leche | This is the perfect “everyday color” without turning boring. It’s sort of a peachy mauve nude (if that even makes sense) and I just can’t get enough of it. It seems to be one of those colors that flatter any skintone.
Essie Sole Mate |I rarely use bright red colors, not that I dislike them, just barely get in the mood of using them, so when I think of using “red nails” this is pretty much the color that pops my mind. I know, its burgundy, but works for me. 🙂

What shades are you loving at the moment?

Hair Routine with Hask Keratin Protein

HASK-2BKeratin-2BastoldbystephanieA couple of months ago I dyed my hair a bit darker,  basically to get a different look, but also to cover up some of the heat damage my hair was going through. My first option was to (obviously) slow down on curling irons, and to also apply homemade hair masks using natural ingredients. I did see some improvements, but I just didn’t have the time to prepare and apply those treatments as often as I wanted or needed to.

I started using some “really good” (and expensive) products that honestly didn’t really work for me. Maybe because of the amount of chemicals in it or the high levels of sulfate, anyway, I had the opportunity of using the Hask Keratin Protein products and saw great results immediately!!

First thing I loved was the shampoo, which is completely free of sulfates, parabens (preservatives), drying alcohol and artificial colors. But my favorite thing is its incredibly silky texture that actually feels like conditioner on the hair.

I haven’t used the deep conditioner yet, I probably will in a few days, but simply using the smoothing conditioner was good enough. I was super satisfied with the results, my hair looked so shiny and felt really silky with no oily residue. I also noticed more volume but less frizz, which is great for people with fine hair like myself!!!

This lightweight oil is really good to style your hair, it controls frizz and locks split ends. You can actually use this as much as needed, but a coin size should be enough to spread evenly throughout hair, avoiding the roots.

It´s definitely a pretty good and affordable way of having a little more “good hair days” than usual, and actually seeing it progress. I´m looking forward to trying their Monoi Coconut Oil products (can´t control myself around coconut scents).

Wishlist: August Wishes

TOPSHOP ROSCHA High Heel Sandals Zara Double Layer T-Shirt Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Pop Frame Denim ‘Le Color’ skinny jeans Saint Laurent medium ‘Paris’ tote ADIDAS ORIGINALS Superstar Foundation Leather Sneakers Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Lady
Am I the only one constantly making online wishlists and filling up carts at every website? (Hopping I’m not the only one) Here are this month’s most wanted items.

Beauty | I haven’t been craving for many beauty items lately (crazy, I know!) but I’m currently obsessed with the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter. This tone is just so flattering for all skin tones. It’s basically a soft white gold with pinky peach undertones. Bad news? it’s a limited edition!!! So I just hope I can put my hands on this before is too late.

Clothing | I’ve been searching for the perfect white distressed denim for a while now, found these while stumbling over Farfetch.com, but I’m still in the hunt! The shirt’s from Zara and I just couldn’t resist the beautiful color… Did I already mention it’s my recent color obsession? Umm.. Well, it is!
Shoes | Black or nude heels are my thing, specially strap heeled sandals; these ones from Topshop are simply gorgeous and so easy to style. But when it comes to sport wear, Adidas Originals Superstar are EVERYWHERE! I love how these look with casual outfits, it’s good to have some comfy footwear (and still look good) for a change.
Accessories | Im always into simplicity when it comes to accessories, I do use statement necklaces once in a while, but other than that, I like to leave it at the very minimum. The Daniel Wellington Classic Sheffield Lady is one of those accessories that will never go out of style and simply the perfect watch for all of you into minimalism as well. On the other side, I’ve found myself in the need of some comfy tote bags, they’re so easy to style, they go with almost everything! I definitely need a black one, though I would like it in camel too.

Lately Favorites

For the past few months I’ve had the opportunity of trying out different products and brands, some I have already used before, but others for the very first time. I gathered up what have been my favorite makeup, skincare and other beauty products.
Mac Lipstick in “Red” | There is nothing more satisfying than finding the perfect red toned lipstick! The truth is I got this one by mistake searching for Rubi Woo (which i had to go back and buy) but I was really fascinated with the color. This is a beautiful satin bluish-red, highly pigmented and flattering for many skin tones.
Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot |in Indianwood which is a long-wearing blendable cream eyeshadow. This one is a metallic antique bronze, but it does look more golden under different lightings. I like to apply this color to complement smokey eyes or just by itself with lots of mascara.

Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer | In Take me to your Tribe from the Island Treasure Collection is a beautiful periwinkle blue and has been my color obsession lately!
Anavita Moisturizing Anti-Wrinkle Cream*| This thick and moisturizing formula is well-suited for all skin types (normal, dry, oily, and sensitive skin) to combat the signs of aging and also provide smooth, toned and more attractive skin. I’ve been applying this after cleansing my skin in the morning and again at night. In love with the results!!

Mac Fix Skin Refresher/ Finishing Mist | I am completely in love with this formula! Sets your makeup up to 8 hours and leaves it with a beautiful dewy finish.
Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum*| It seems like everybody’s going crazy over Vitamin C lately, and it’s basically because it has been shown to be extremely effective at reversing the effects of time and environmental damage to the skin. This serum is meant to increase the production of collagen, protect skin from UV damage (spots and discoloration), to improve skin’s texture and to bring back skin’s natural elasticity, smoothness and counteract fine lines, wrinkles or any other aging sign while also providing a brighter complexion.

Last but definitely not least is the is the NeoStrata Intensive Eye Therapy* which I should actually call my life saver lately!! I suppose I’m not the only one who struggles with dark circles, crow’s feet or puffiness, so I guess a lot of you may totally relate to me when it comes to this. This product has helped me reduce the appearance of uneven pigmentation and to actually get younger looking eyes Oh!… and it’s Ophtalmologist tested!

TOP 5 FAVORITE PINK LIPSTICKS

Hey lovely readers! Some people may already know how obsessed I am with lipsticks, no matter the shade or brand, I LOVE THEM ALL!!! So today I want to share with you my top 5 favorite pink lipsticks at the moment.
Even though I’m not the biggest fan of pink, it is definitely a color I can use every single day on my lips if I find the right shades.

L-R: 1. MAC All Fired Up 2. Rimmel London 06 3. NYX Soft Matte Antwerp 4. MAC Chatter Box  5.Wet n Wild Think Pink

First I’m gonna start with the beautiful bold shade MAC All Fired Up, this is one of the “Retro Matte” lipsticks and as you can see in the picture it’s kind of a cherry pink tone. I love the fact that it’s a matte lipstick and how long lasting it is, but also I believe this is my favorite pink shade of all. Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss 06 is a similar color but a little more into the fuchsias and with a moisturising formula. NYX Soft Matte Antwerp it’s actually a lip cream and what I like the most about it is that once you apply it, it seems very creamy but after a few minutes it dries and sets o the lip with a matte finish. Now, MAC Chatterbox became one of my everyday lipsticks a few months ago, it’s an “Amplified”, a soft and creamy formula with a glossy finish and medium pigmentation. The fact that it’s a light pink shade makes it easy to combine with many makeup looks. Last but not least is the Wet n Wild Think Pink, this is the lightest shade of all and I believe the lightest I’ll ever use for my skin tone, I love Wet n Wild MegaLast lip colors way too good for the price!!
If you have any recommendations, leave your comments below! 🙂

Travelling?… My Must have items!

Hi guys! Happy New Year to all of you! So a couple of weeks ago I took a short trip to Florida and that actually inspired me to write this post, I do have an older post similar to this one Here but I did feel I needed to update it, so I gathered up some of my “must haves” when it comes to staying away from home.
1. Beaded Gel Beauty Mask. We all know how stressful travelling can be, in my case if I don’t get a good night sleep I end up having headaches or at least puffy eyes, so discovering this beauty mask by Bella Beauty was amazing! You can use it either warm or cold by putting it in the microwave for 15 seconds or 30 minutes in the fridge. This not only smoothes pain away but also relieves puffy eyes if it’s used cold.

2. Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitizer. No matter where you’re going always remember to have with you some hand sanitizers! This one is from Bath & Body Works, they have so many different scents and they’re just about a dollar or so each one.

3. ELF HD Blush. This has been my everyday blush for the past few weeks. The reason I include this product in my taveling must haves is not just for how easy it is to apply, but also its long lasting effect. So whether you’re in a rush and want to go the “easy way” or are going to be traveling for several hours, this is the blush for you.

4. NYX Setting Spray (dewy finish). I’ve been using this makeup setter for over a year now and I just can’t stop using it! I apply this spray once i’m done with my makeup and not only it sets it for over 8 hours or more, it also leaves my skin with a beautiful healthy glow.

Hola chicos/as!

5. Mac Studio Fix Pressed Powder. This is the best pressed powder I’ve ever used! Whenever I’m having a lazy day and don’t feel like applying too much makeup I skip foundation and just apply some of this powder. So when I’m travelling early in the morning I deffinitely do this.

6. The Body Shop Body Lotion. This body lotion is only 2.0 oz so it’s perfect if you’re travelling by plain. It has a lightweight consistency but very moisturising. This one is “Coconut Milk” which I find delicious!

7. Sephora Instant Nail Polish Remover. This is one of the best products ever invented! If you have never used or heard of this let me explain it to you. As the name says, it’s a nailpolish remover, but what makes it special is how easy it works. Inside it has some sort of foam with a hole in the center for you to stick your finger, drowned in the liquid (acetone). You just have to stick the nail and twist.. That’s it!

8. Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat. Talking about nails.. There’s nothing more annoying than messing up your nails when they’re freshly painted. This top coat speeds up the drying process to avoid these kind of situations.

9. Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara. This is the mascara I’ve been using lately, it gives your lashes a lot of volume so it’s perfect if you don’t want to stress yourself over eye makeup and you want something easy but stunning.

10. Batiste Dry Shampoo. Life saver alert!!!! Whether you’re camping in the middle of nowhere where you can find more bears than beauty salons, you forgot your hair dryer at home or simply don’t have time to do your hair… You will appreciate bringing this item! Basically a dry shampoo is a refreshing spray you apply a on your scalp that’s supposed to absorb your hair’s oil excess. You just need to spray it on and massage throughly as you do when you actually wash your hair, and that’s pretty much it!  They have many different scents, I personally recommend the “Fruty & Cheeky Cherry”(Which is the one you see in the picture) also as the “Coconut & Exotic Tropical”. This one is full size, but you can get smaller versions of this product.

11. Headphones. Any headphones! This ones are Sony.

12. What to read and where to write. I don’t know about you but I love to read, so I always need at least a magazine with me. On the other side, I found a need to keep a journal and to write down my “To Do” lists, specially when travelling.
5. Polvo Compacto Mac Studio Fix.

6. The Body Shop Loción Corporal.

9. Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara.
